German Renaissance Revival

I received an email from Alyson wanting to sell her Renaissance Revival parlor set (contact me if interested) and was intrigued by it's history so I thought that I'd share. "This set was handed down to me by my Grandmother. She and her family immigrated to the US from Germany in 1912 and they brought this furniture over with them. Grandma estimated that it was purchased in late 1890’s." Which probably means they bought it used in the 1890s since it had been made decades earlier. If you look at the pieces, they don't differ much from what was being produced in the U.S. at the time. It is possible that the set was made in a country other than Germany where they purchased it, such as France. However, I find it far less likely that it was made in the U.S.
