An anonymous commenter got the mystery device's name correct - this is a Regina, technically a ReginaPhone 240 Music Box and it plays 15 1/2 inch Regina discs. I've wanted one of these for a while but they are so highly desired, the price for a nice tabletop version starts in the $2,000 range and can go way into the 5 digits for better models. There are 7 days left on this listing and already this one is at $5,400.
The Regina has undergone a complete restoration by The Meekins Music Box Co. which has sold these for 35 years. It is worth a stop by the Ebay listing to see the results of the restoration. This music box is in impeccable condition and "in perfect tune". The console has African Stripe Mahogany and has storage space for discs underneath. There are two carved lions on the corners of the cabinet. 15 antique Regina discs accompany the sale of this music box or you can choose 12 contemporary Porter discs.
If you're interested in keeping an eye out for Regina's, this search will do the trick.
